DragonCon: Legolas and Me

We were at DragonCon in Atlanta with our friends Erin and Marshall all weekend, and we had a lot of fun. It was our first time at such an event, but I hope to attend more. Maybe I’ll even figure out what fantasy/sci-fi character I resemble most and attempt to dress up.

At the conference, we met (with giddy anticipation) some of the cast from The Tribe, a young adult sci-fi soap that we watch with guilty pleasure. We also saw James Marsters, or Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and some other celebrities. I attended one writing session, just so I could be serious for a little while, but for the most part we just gawked and giggled at all the costumes. I had this picture taken with a man I know only as Legolas. I also snapped some with Jack Sparrow and a Ring Wraith. The Ring Wraith even screeched for me.

I plan to start posting more often now that summer is drawing to a close and the real world is narrowing in. I wonder if I’ll ever stop pretending that summer is still a vacation from the “ordinary” year.
