Betsy and Goose

My mother-in-law, Margaret, got this milk pitcher for me last weekend when we went to a charity shopping event together. It charmed me so much, I was all set to buy it for myself, but she beat me to the punch. We found it at the Piggybank Express booth, where the proprieter/craftswoman told me it was based on a classic Blue Ridge pattern called “Betsy.” I plan to get an unpainted version of one of these someday too. Margaret got a painted piggybank to add to the barn animals who live above her kitchen cabinets.

I won the goose on eBay a few weeks ago. It flew to my house all the way from Maine. The item description called it “A NICE VINTAGE TIN LITHO. WIND-UP GOOSE TOY.” I agree.
